The Irrigation Innovation Consortium, Fort Collins, will host the Smart webinar featuring insights from three IIC-supported water research projects from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MT on July 20. The webinar will highlight motivations and barriers to producer and golf course superintendent use of tools, data and management strategies.

The landscape irrigation research project presentation will be on precision irrigation on golf course fairways using soil moisture sensors and mapping, led by Connor Bolton from Texas A&M.

Initial results from the first nationwide survey of golf superintendents focused on use, motivations and barriers to using precision irrigation management tools will be shared, along with research results from Minnesota and Texas on methods and opportunities to reduce water use on fairways with conventional and precision irrigation scheduling methods.

There will be two additional presentations on ag-related research projects on orchard management and agrivoltaics during IIC’s Smart webinar.
