The Irrigation Association, Fairfax, Virginia, selected the winners of its annual new product contest at its annual show Dec. 8.
Three products were selected in three different categories with each product earning a gold, silver or bronze ranking in the new product contest.
The gold winner of the landscape irrigation category is the Ultrasonic Flow Sensor by Rain Bird Corporation. The Ultrasonic Flow Sensor reads flow rates for landscape irrigation controllers using ultrasonic waves instead of the traditional impeller-type sensor.
The silver winner of the landscape irrigation category is Irrigation Management as a Service by Calsense. Irrigation Management as a Service is intended to be a “turnkey” solution to identifying and providing irrigation hardware, software and services.
The bronze winner is the LXME2 & LXME2 Pro controllers by Rain Bird Corporation. The controllers are upgraded versions of the previous iteration of the system. The upgraded controllers offer 40 programs, a large backlit LCD screen and simplified programming.
The gold winner of the landscape lighting category is the Brilliance Sector Selector by Brilliance. The Sector Selector creates specific zones that can be controlled independently from a single transformer.
The silver winner of the landscape lighting category is Renewable Universal Power Supply by Lite the Nite. The RUPS is a whole power supply system that is solar-powered and ideal for landscape lighting, roadway signage, electric fences and irrigation pumps.
The bronze winner is Inspira by Unique Lighting Systems. The Inspira line of outdoor lighting fixtures has precise color temperature control, exact LCD beam angle adjustability and infinite RGB color options.
The Irrigation Association also named gold, silver and bronze winners in the agriculture irrigation categories.
A total of 30 new products and technologies were entered in the competition. Products were evaluated based on innovation, design quality, increased water/resource-use efficiency, ease of use and product life expectancy. Official judging was conducted via Zoom Oct. 11-12, and these winners were announced live on Dec. 8 during the General Session at the Irrigation Show.
