Ten professionals from across the green industry have been selected for the Horticultural Research Institute’s one-year leadership development program.

The Horticultural Research Institute and AmericanHort have announced the HRI Leadership Academy Class of 2026. The cohort includes 10 accomplished horticulture professionals chosen for their leadership potential, industry commitment and desire to shape the future of the green industry.

The HRI Leadership Academy is a yearlong advanced program focused on strategic thinking, business acumen and leadership development. Through in-person sessions, peer collaboration and mentorship, participants are equipped to lead change in their companies and communities.

“This class brings together the mix of experience, creativity and purpose that reflects the best of what our industry has to offer,” said Jennifer Gray, HRI administrator. “Each year, we look for individuals who are not only accomplished professionals but also thoughtful, forward-thinking leaders.”

Class members represent a broad range of roles and companies, including Ball FloraPlant, Syngenta Flowers, Home Nursery, Smith Gardens and more. Their expertise spans production, marketing, sales, retail and advocacy.

Ken Fisher, AmericanHort president & CEO, added: “Programs like the HRI Leadership Academy are critical to ensuring the long-term strength of our industry. We’re not only investing in the growth of these leaders—we’re investing in the success and sustainability of horticulture as a whole.”
