Ewing Outdoor Supply announced that President and CEO Douglas York will transition to a strategic advisor and board member role effective July 1, 2026. Tom Childers will step in to serve as president and CEO. The company said the move is part of a multi-year succession plan.

In the company’s online release, York emphasized, “Ewing is not for sale. This transition is specifically designed to allow our fourth-generation family members, Jack York and Allie York Tripaldi, the time and environment they need to prepare for future leadership roles. My new role as strategic advisor allows me to focus on business development and acquisitions while ensuring our family culture remains the cornerstone of this business.”

York has led Ewing through a major expansion, helping grow the business from a 95-store regional distributor to a national company with more than 260 locations across 30 states. Childers, a 25-year industry veteran who joined Ewing in 2018, most recently served as chief revenue officer. He previously held leadership roles with John Deere Landscapes, Toro and Turf Care Products and was the co-founder of Landscape Today, a sales and marketing agency.
