July showed us what’s possible when the industry speaks with a unifying voice.
From city councils and statehouses to social media feeds and farm fields, irrigation professionals across the country took the lead in spotlighting the people, practices and technologies that help every drop count during Smart Irrigation Month.
Thanks to your efforts, we secured gubernatorial proclamations in Oklahoma, Colorado, New Jersey, Nebraska and Idaho — elevating the visibility of the value and importance of smart irrigation and your contributions at the highest levels of state government.
The buzz around Smart Irrigation Month didn’t just happen — you made it happen.

The buzz around Smart Irrigation Month didn’t just happen — you made it happen. From team spotlights and project photos to how-to tips and customer wins, your stories lit up LinkedIn and other platforms, helping people inside and outside the industry see what smart irrigation really looks like.
And it worked. Engagement surged — not because of an ad campaign or a clever hashtag, but because the people doing the work showed up and shared what matters. That visibility builds awareness, pride and credibility — and it strengthens our voice in the conversations that shape our future.
Together, we brought that voice to policy tables where decisions about workforce, water and innovation are being made. From statehouse proclamations to federal tax code updates that support industry modernization, your engagement helped put smart irrigation on the map — and in the room.
Now, it’s about carrying that momentum forward. This fall, the Irrigation Association is focused on three priorities on your behalf:
- Public affairs: Building durable coalitions in Washington, D.C., and in state capitols to help advance the industry.
- Credentialing: Expanding access to certification and strengthening recognition of certified irrigation professionals.
- Insights and solutions: Delivering tools and insights to help you navigate a rapidly changing environment.
And we’re putting that into practice with the 2025 Irrigation Show and Education Week. From fresh session formats to an energizing general session experience, we’re showcasing exhibits, education, fresh sessions and events that reflect the diversity of our industry and community and that speak to every corner of the irrigation community — manufacturers and distributors, landscape and ag professionals, business leaders and up-and-comers alike.
What we showcased during Smart Irrigation Month 2025 wasn’t just a celebration — it was a signal. And that momentum is fueling what we do next. Thank you for being part of it.
