The Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSAA) announced that CEO Rhett Evans will conclude his leadership role in 2027, marking nearly two decades with the organization. Evans, who has served as CEO since 2008, has played a central role in expanding the association’s visibility, advocacy efforts and member services.

During his tenure, GCSAA strengthened its position within the golf and turfgrass industries, with a focus on environmental stewardship, workforce development and professional education. Under his leadership, the organization also advanced initiatives tied to sustainability and resource management, including water-use practices relevant to golf course operations.

GCSAA’s board of directors will begin the process of identifying Evans’ successor, with a transition plan expected over the next year. The leadership change comes as the association continues to address evolving industry priorities and long-term strategic goals.
