Horizon acquires Wingate Supply

Horizon Distributors Inc., Covington, Louisiana, acquired the assets of Wingate Supply Inc., a Tampa, Florida-based distributor of landscaping materials, hardscape and stone products. Wingate Supply operates one sales and distribution center in Tampa serving the southwest Florida market.

“Wingate Supply has served the southwest Florida landscape materials market for over 40 years,” says Horizon President Jeffrey Clay. “Adding the Wingate Supply team and sales location to Horizon’s existing Florida sales centers enhances our presence in the fast-growing Tampa market and is a strong complement to last year’s addition of TWC Distributors to the Horizon South Florida presence. We are also very pleased that Odis Ward, Wingate Supply president, will continue on with us to lead the Wingate Supply business.”

“Joining the Horizon organization will enhance Wingate Supply’s customers’ growth opportunities with expanded product offerings, services and resources,” says Odis. “We appreciate the support from the many customers, vendors and dedicated employees that we have had the privilege of working with over the past 40 years. We are excited to begin working with the Horizon team to ensure a smooth transition and a strong combined business going forward.”
