NALP Legislative Days now virtual

The National Association of Landscape Professionals, Fairfax, Virginia, digitized its Legislative Days event due to COVID-19. The multi-day event will now take place virtually starting on Feb. 15.

Originally scheduled to take place in-person in Washington, D.C., the House of Representatives’ attending physician recently advised against in-person meetings at the Capitol Hill complex.

The event is free and open to all landscape and lawn care professionals seeking a role in policy advocation. Legislative Days will feature briefings Feb. 15 and Zoom meetings with legislative officials throughout the week.

Participants will learn about key issues impacting landscape or lawn care businesses at local, state and federal levels, such as H-2B program limitations, pesticide restrictions and gas-powered equipment bans.

“While we are disappointed that we can’t go together to Capitol Hill as a group, it is still very important to talk to policymakers and their legislative teams,” says Andrew Bray, NALP’s vice president of government affairs. “We held an effective Virtual Legislative Days in 2021, and with industry participation, we can be effective again in what is, unfortunately, becoming the new normal in the past two years in Washington.”
