Scholarship opportunity for green industry students

College students pursuing a degree in landscape management, lawn care or horticulture are eligible to apply for the GIE Media 2026 Richard Foster Award.
Applications for the Richard Foster Award, a $2,500 scholarship, are due June 22, 2026.

College students pursuing a degree in landscape management, lawn care or horticulture are eligible to apply for the GIE Media 2026 Richard Foster Award. The recipient receives a $2,500 scholarship to support their education. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a two- or four-year college or university and working toward a degree in horticulture, turfgrass management, agronomy, environmental science or another green industry-related field. 

Applicants are required to submit academic transcripts, two letters of recommendation, a resume detailing relevant experience and activities and a 750-word essay outlining their personal and professional goals, including examples of leadership and community involvement. Full details are available online. 

The scholarship is designed to support future green industry professionals. Applications must be postmarked by June 22, 2026, and mailed to:
