The American Lighting Association (ALA) announced that Tony Wang, the chairman and founder of WAC Group, has been inducted into the ALA Hall of Fame. The honor recognizes Wang’s commitment to the lighting industry and his role in accelerating the adoption of LED technology, connected lighting, intelligent controls and energy-efficient solutions.
Wang and his wife, Tai Wang, co-founded Wangs Alliance Corporation, doing business as WAC Lighting in 1984. Over the last four decades, the company has expanded to include facilities in New York, Georgia, Texas and California, with dedicated manufacturing operations in Thailand and China.
His impact extends beyond the lighting industry to philanthropy and community service. He is an Advisory Board member of the Northwell Health Cancer Institute and has supported numerous charitable initiatives throughout his career. In 2026, he was also recognized with the Long Island Business News Icon Honor.
