California’s regulation ‘MWELO’ revision open for comments

The ordinance provides standards for water use in landscaping, impacting both residential and commercial projects.  
The period is open from Nov. 17, 2023, to Jan. 16, 2024, and provides an opportunity for stakeholders in irrigation to share their insights.

The California Department of Water Resources, Sacramento, California, opened a public comment period for revisions to the Model Water Efficient Landscape Ordinance, a regulation that sets guidelines for landscape design, irrigation efficiency and water conservation in landscaping projects.  

The ordinance provides standards for water use in landscaping, impacting both residential and commercial projects.  

The public comment period, open from Nov. 17, 2023, to Jan. 16, 2024, includes a public hearing on Jan. 9, 2024, and provides an opportunity for stakeholders in the irrigation and landscaping fields to voice their insights and concerns.
