Frisco, Colo., moves to Phase 2 Watering Restrictions

Town officials said the measures are designed to conserve supplies while creating consistency across Summit County.
New rules limit lawn irrigation by address number and align the town’s water code with other Summit County communities.

The Town of Frisco, Colorado, has implemented Phase 2 mandatory water use restrictions as part of its updated Water Conservation Code.

Under the schedule, irrigation of lawns and turf is limited by address number:

  • Zone 1 (even-numbered addresses): Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, 6 p.m.–9 a.m.
  • Zone 2 (odd-numbered addresses): Sunday, Wednesday, Friday, 6 p.m.–9 a.m.

Watering outside these times is prohibited. Flowers, shrubs and trees may still be watered at any time if drip irrigation or hand-watering with a shut-off nozzle is used.

Additional rules prohibit washing vehicles or structures with hoses lacking an automatic shut-off valve, washing paved areas with a hose and serving water at restaurants unless specifically requested by the customer.

The changes stem from Ordinance 24-07, adopted in March 2024, which amended Frisco’s Water Conservation Code (Chapter 171). The ordinance simplified and standardized watering restrictions to align with other Summit County towns. The Town maintains an irrigation schedule based on property location, and residents can review Article V of Chapter 171 for full details.
