Irrigation Association joins 606 business leaders urging collaboration with next president

The letter, released ahead of the election results, emphasizes the importance of national unity and the role of manufacturing.
In a call for unity, the Irrigation Association and hundreds of business leaders pledged to work with the next administration to address economic challenges.

The Irrigation Association, Fairfax, Virginia, joined 606 business leaders and the National Association of Manufacturers in signing a letter addressed to the president-elect, pledging collaboration with the next administration to promote unity and economic resilience as America approaches its 250th anniversary. 

The letter, released ahead of the election results, emphasizes the importance of national unity and the role of manufacturing and its supporting industries in ensuring the country’s continued prosperity. It also calls for bridging divides and fostering trust between sectors and communities. 

“As we approach this historic milestone, we must embrace the principles that have always defined our nation: free enterprise, competitiveness, and opportunity for all,” reads the letter. “The peaceful transition of power is a hallmark of our democracy and essential to ensuring continued confidence in the rule of law.” 

Nathan Bowen, vice president of policy and industry advancement for the Irrigation Association, highlighted the critical role the industry plays in the nation’s economy and the importance of collaboration in addressing future challenges. “This letter is about ensuring that we continue to support the millions of workers and businesses that rely on a strong economy,” says Bowen. “We stand ready to work with the next administration to advance policies that bolster economic resilience and provide opportunities for communities across the country.”
