The Irrigation Association, Fairfax, Virginia, will host “Drought-Driven Change: How the Climate Crisis Has Altered Perspectives on Smart Irrigation,” a one-hour webinar on March 29.

Attendees will learn about the practical tools cities are using to maintain parks and green spaces in the middle of drought and climate crisis. The session will discuss how to approach a water district or provider to discuss ways to work together to make sensible use of technology within a water-restricted environment.

Attendees will also learn about alternative approaches to financing smart irrigation investments and how to explain the advantages provided by an “as a service” model for budget-conscious organizations. Finally, the session will include a discussion of the central role of smart irrigation technology in implementing a 360-degree holistic approach to landscape care: providing beautiful, functional landscapes without wasting water.

The webinar is a part of the IA’s Industry Insights series that features 60-minute sessions including a presentation and Q&A. The webinars cover issues current and relevant to those working in the industry today, featuring knowledgeable experts presenting information on trends, research and best practices. The webinars are available to the public and most offer participants CEUs.

The drought webinar will be presented by Keith Schweiger, CLWM, CID, CIC, CLIA, CIT, QWEL, and technical sales manager at Calsense.

The cost to attend the webinar is $35 for IA members and $50 for nonmembers. It is worth one continuing education credit.
